Amman, Dec. 9 (Petra) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Barbados, Kerrie Symmonds.
During the call, Safadi and Symmonds followed up on the outcomes of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s visit to Barbados last month.
The duo agreed to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries, hold political consultations between the Jordanian and Barbadian foreign ministries, and develop “practical” steps to build cooperation in several vital sectors, mainly health, water, energy, and tourism.
The two ministers also discussed regional issues and developments in the Gaza Strip.
Safadi expressed his appreciation for the Republic of Barbados’ recognition of the State of Palestine and its support for the two-state solution.
