Amman, June 25 (Petra) Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Thailand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maris Sangiambongsa, discussed over the phone regional de-escalation and ties.

Safadi and Sangiambongsa discussed efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and ways to strengthen relations.

The top diplomats underscored the significance of the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, recently announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.

They urged the parties to the ceasefire to adhere to the agreement to prevent the region from facing catastrophic consequences and called for an immediate return to negotiations and a political process to resolve ongoing conflicts.

The discussion focused on efforts to establish an exchange agreement aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and ensuring the timely entry of humanitarian aid into enclave.

Safadi called for a halt all aggression on Gaza immediately and to open all crossings to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance, noting that the Strip faces an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, with support needed from relevant United Nations organisations.

He expressed concern over ongoing illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank, which undermine the two-state solution and diminish prospects for a just and lasting peace.

The two ministers emphasised the importance of bolstering bilateral relations across various sectors and maintaining cooperation and coordination on issues of mutual interest.
