Football: QSL 2 New Season Matches to Kick Off August 23

Doha, July 21 (QNA) – The Qatar Stars League (QSL) announced the QSL 2 League schedule for 2026-2027 season, which will kick off on Aug. 23.
A total of 12 teams will be competing next season: Al Khor, Al Markhiya, Al Bidda, Mesaimeer, Muaither, Al Kharaitiyat, Umm Salal, Al Waab, NextGen (Al Rayyan), Etihad Al Gharafa, Al Shamal Future and Qatar Under-23 National Team.
The announcement of the schedule was part of QSL’s preparations for the new season, ensuring that competitions had the highest organizational and technical standards.
In the context of QSL’s commitment to providing the best technical and organizational conditions for the start of the season, the first three rounds of matches will be played in air-conditioned stadiums, providing an ideal environment for players and fans, and enhancing the quality of competition during this time of year.
The first three rounds of matches will be hosted by Al Thumama Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Bayt Stadium, Lusail Stadium, Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium and Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. 
The first round of the tournament will be held over three days, with Al Khor and Al Markhiya opening the matches when they meet at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium on Aug. 23, and on the same day Al Bidda will face Al Gharafa at Lusail Stadium. The following day, Mesaimeer will meet Muaither at Al-Thumama Stadium, while Al Shamal will face Al Kharaitiyat at Khalifa International Stadium. The round will conclude on Aug. 25 with two matches: Umm Salal will meet the Qatari Under-23 National Team at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, and Al Waab will meet Al Rayyan Next Generation at Al-Bayt Stadium.
