Foreign Minister Calls on Armed Groups in Kordofan to Return to the Fold of the Nation, Praises Joint Forces

Khartoum, July 24, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohieddin Salim, has called on all those bearing arms in Kordofan alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia to return to the fold of the nation and join the peace process without delay, so that all Sudanese can move forward together toward reconstruction and recovery. In a joint interview with the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), Sudan National Radio, and Sudan National Television, the minister praised the patriotic role of the Joint Forces during the “Battle of Dignity.” He said the Joint Forces had recognised the nature of the conflict at an early stage and aligned themselves with the Sudanese Armed Forces. “The Joint Forces understood the situation as it should have been understood. That is why they are now fighting alongside the Armed Forces until the rebel RSF militia is defeated,” he said. Ambassador Salim said that the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Sudanese people would compel the RSF militia to implement the provisions of the Jeddah Declaration after, in his view, the international community had failed to do so. He added that the militia is now fragmenting internally and collapsing. The minister also praised the contributions of Sudanese living abroad, saying they had demonstrated a strong sense of patriotism throughout the war and had been a source of support for the country. He disclosed that the ministry is considering ways to make greater use of public diplomacy in the next phase.BH/BH
