Cairo, June 20, 2026 (SUNA) — Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salim met on Saturday with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aatty, at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry headquarters in Cairo. The meeting reviewed the course of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen and expand cooperation across various fields, in addition to discussing a number of issues of mutual interest within the framework of ongoing coordination and consultations between Sudan and Egypt. The two sides also discussed the operations of the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo and the Sudanese consulates in Aswan and Alexandria, as well as the challenges affecting consular work and services provided to Sudanese nationals residing and staying in Egypt. Dr. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to providing all necessary support and facilities to Sudan’s diplomatic and consular missions, directing the relevant authorities to address existing challenges facing the embassy and consulates in a manner that enhances operational efficiency and facilitates services for Sudanese nationals. For his part, Ambassador Salim expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support for Sudan, commending the high level of cooperation and coordination between the two countries and praising the Egyptian side’s positive response to issues concerning Sudan’s diplomatic missions and the Sudanese community in Egypt. The two ministers agreed to continue coordination and consultations between their foreign ministries and relevant authorities and to strengthen joint follow-up mechanisms for implementing the understandings reached, reflecting the deep historical and fraternal ties between Sudan and Egypt and serving the common interests of the two peoples. The meeting comes within the framework of joint efforts to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance Sudanese-Egyptian relations at all levels in support of mutual interests and greater integration and cooperation between the two countries.BH/BH
