Amman, Sept. 2 (Petra) – French police on Tuesday shot dead a man suspected of stabbing at least five people, one of them critically, in the southern city of Marseille.
According to Agence France-Presse, prosecutor Nicolas Besson told reporters the attacker was a Tunisian national with legal status in France. He allegedly stabbed a hotel manager who had evicted him over unpaid bills.
Besson added that the suspect also attacked the hotel manager’s son, another guest who was seriously injured, and two passersby in the street.
A police source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said officers intervened and killed the man.
