“We are impressed by the significance of the projects we have seen up close, as well as those presented to us in Dakhla,” said Senator Max Brisson (Republican Group, Pyrénées Atlantiques) during a press briefing following a meeting in Rabat on Thursday with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita.
The French delegation toured Dakhla on Wednesday, where they met with the Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Ali Khalil, the Vice-President of the Regional Council, Moulay Boutal Lembarki, and the President of the Dakhla Municipal Council Erragheb Hormatallah. They also visited several large-scale projects, including the seawater desalination plant and the construction site for the new Dakhla Atlantique port.
Describing the exchanges with Bourita as “fruitful”, which took place at the House of Councillors, Brisson highlighted the “brotherly and warm” relationships between the two countries, particularly energized by the recent state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Morocco.
In addition, Brisson announced that Morocco would be the guest of honor at the upcoming Paris Book Fair.
