Gaza, June 21 (Petra) – The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported on Saturday that 202 people were killed and 1,037 others injured in the past 48 hours as Israel’s assault on the besieged enclave continues.
In its daily casualty report, the ministry said that many victims remain trapped under rubble and in streets inaccessible to emergency and civil defense crews due to ongoing hostilities and destruction.
The total death toll since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, has now reached 55,908, with 131,138 wounded, according to the ministry. Since the resumption of the Israeli offensive on March 18, 2024, 5,599 people have been killed and 19,097 injured.
The ministry also noted that 450 of the fatalities and more than 3,466 of the wounded were individuals waiting to receive aid at distribution centers.
