Gaza Strip, Aug 23 (Petra) — Hospitals across the Gaza Strip received sixty-one dead bodies and 308 wounded people from the ongoing Israeli war on the enclave in the last 24 hours, the Gaza Health Ministry said on Saturday.
That took to 62,622 the death toll from Israel’s aggression, which began on October, 7, 2023, and the total number of injuries climbed to 157,673, it said in its latest update of casualties. It said many of the victims were under the rubble of targeted buildings and on roads, inaccessible by ambulances and rescue teams.
Among the latest casualties were 16 who were shot dead and 111 injured at food distribution sites, raising the number of “bread martyrs” to 2,076 and the wounded to more than 15,308, said the ministry.
It also said Gaza hospitals recorded 8 new fatalities, including 2 children, from starvation and malnutrition, raising the total number to 281, including 114 children.
