Riyadh, September 02 (QNA) – The Gulf Cooperation Council strongly condemned Iran’s targeting of the Saudi tanker (SIDR) as it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in deaths among the tanker’s crew.
GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said in a statement that the attack constitutes a dangerous escalation and a grave violation of the principles of international law, as well as a direct threat to the security and safety of international maritime navigation, exposing regional security and stability and global trade to serious risks.
He stressed that the GCC countries stand with Saudi Arabia in all measures aimed at safeguarding its security and interests. (QNA)
