Riyadh, March 05 (QNA) – GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi stressed that the security and sovereignty of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council are non-negotiable, warning that the bloc will not accept becoming a target of aggression or a battleground for proxy conflicts.
Speaking during a joint ministerial meeting between the GCC and the European Union, Albudaiwi condemned missile and drone attacks launched by Iran against Gulf states, describing them as violations of international law and the United Nations Charter.
He emphasized that GCC countries reserve their legitimate right to self-defense while remaining committed to diplomacy and regional stability, urging the international community and European partners to help stop the escalation and safeguard global trade and energy security, particularly in vital waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz.
