Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim, Minister of Finance and leader of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), and Sheikh Musa Hilal, chairman of the Sudanese Revolutionary Awakening Council, reaffirmed the importance of preserving Sudan’s unity, safeguarding its sovereignty and independent national decision-making, and rejecting all forms of foreign interference in the country’s internal affairs. The two leaders made the remarks during a meeting held in Khartoum on Monday evening, where they stressed that resolving Sudan’s crisis must come through an inclusive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue rooted in the national will and responsive to the aspirations of the Sudanese people. They also underscored the need to continue supporting the Sudanese Armed Forces, the Joint Forces, and supporting forces until security and stability are restored and state authority is re-established across the country. The two sides called for combating hate speech and rejecting violence and social fragmentation, emphasizing that social peace and peaceful coexistence, based on reconciliation and tolerance, are fundamental to achieving security, stability, and building Sudan’s future. At the conclusion of the meeting, the two leaders agreed to strengthen coordination and cooperation between the Sudanese Revolutionary Awakening Council and the Justice and Equality Movement during the coming period in a manner that serves the national interest and reinforces unity in the face of current challenges.BH/BH
