Berlin, March 17 (QNA) – The German government announced Tuesday its intention to implement new regulatory measures to curb frequent fuel price fluctuations by limiting the number of price increases at gas stations to once per day.

In an official statement, the government explained that the proposed measure stipulates that gasoline and diesel prices will increase only once a day, at noon, while stations will still be able to lower prices at any time during the day.

This measure aims to enhance transparency and reduce practices that lead to sudden price hikes.

The government noted that fuel prices in Germany sometimes changed up to 22 times a day, which it considered a factor limiting consumers’ ability to monitor prices and choose the most convenient time to refuel.

This initiative is part of a package of measures the German government is working on to regulate the fuel market and strengthen consumer protection amid continued pressure on energy prices. (QNA)
