Madaba, Jan. 8 (Petra)- The German Jordanian University (GJU) ranked 2nd locally for the 2024 NASA Space Apps Challenge, which qualified it to engage in the global stage of the hackathon.
During his meeting with the team members Wednesday, GJU President, Dr. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, said the achievement reflects capabilities of the university’s students and helps it compete in international forums.
Listening to the students’ suggestions and feedback aimed to secure support and facilitations, he stressed the university’s commitment to providing a “stimulating” environment that encourages students to be “creative” and participate in global competitions.
The university’s winning team, who comprised of Karmel Qawasmeh, Lian Darwish, Lynn Fityani, and Muhammad Khader, engaged in the “Visualize Space Science” challenge, which aims to design “innovative” solutions that facilitate access to complex space data and experiments using virtual visualization tools.
