Amman, May 27 (Petra) – The prime ministry has instructed all ministries, government departments, public institutions and universities, municipalities, joint service councils, the Greater Amman Municipality, and fully state-owned companies to begin implementing the national commitments arising from the 2025 Global Disability Summit.

The directive, issued in an official circular and based on a request from the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), urges all relevant entities to coordinate directly with the council to ensure the commitments are executed in partnership with concerned stakeholders. This includes previously signed agreements, national action plans on disability rights, and broader national inclusion strategies.

Each ministry and public institution has been asked to appoint either the director or the official responsible for disability affairs or institutional development as the liaison officer for coordination with the HCD. The goal is to streamline efforts and ensure effective follow-up.

The prime ministry also requested that all institutions provide the HCD with an initial implementation framework outlining necessary activities, timelines, and required resources to ensure effective monitoring and execution of the national commitments.

This move reflects Jordan’s dedication to the outcomes of the 2025 Global Disability Summit and its commitment to advancing the rights of persons with disabilities in line with international standards.
