Amman, May 10 (Petra) – Chairman of the Kuwaiti Union of Charitable Societies and Foundations Saad Marzouq Al-Otaibi commended Jordan’s humanitarian efforts, describing it as a “gateway of hope and a land of humanitarian giving.” He emphasized that this role is not a temporary or politically driven one, but rather a consistent approach adopted by the Hashemite leadership with full awareness and responsibility. This approach has been clearly reflected in the work of Jordan’s humanitarian institutions, particularly the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), which has remained a leading humanitarian arm both within Jordan and beyond its borders.
In a statement on Saturday, Al-Otaibi responded to malicious reports targeting the reputation of the Kingdom and its charitable organizations, especially the JHCO. He stated that in Kuwait, through its charitable societies and foundations, they have found a reliable partner in Jordan’s humanitarian organizations. These partnerships have been instrumental in supporting refugees and those in need within Jordan, as well as facilitating aid to Palestine and Gaza. This fruitful collaboration highlights the deep-rooted relationship between the two brotherly nations and the complementary roles of goodwill in the Arab region.
Al-Otaibi further stressed that more than ever, the Arab world needs to strengthen this integrated humanitarian model, one that promotes solidarity as a principle, brotherhood as a reality, and giving as a genuine partnership that transcends borders.
He pointed out that Jordan has long stood as a beacon of humanitarian and civilizational responsibility, offering refuge and support to neighboring countries in times of crisis and hardship. Throughout decades, whenever the region faced displacement or refugee crises, Jordan has been a generous sanctuary, opening both its borders and hearts to those in need, without discrimination. He described Jordan as a “gateway of mercy and a land of safety,” a role that is deeply embedded in the Hashemite leadership’s approach to responsibility and awareness.
Al-Otaibi also praised the JHCO for its ongoing support to Syrian refugees and Palestinian families and its significant initiatives to assist Gaza and the West Bank. He highlighted that Jordan has truly become a gateway of hope for Palestine and a generous hand for Gaza’s wounds.
Furthermore, he noted that Jordan’s charitable efforts extend beyond relief to areas such as health and education, with the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) being a leading example. KHCC has become a global model in providing specialized medical care to all patients, regardless of wealth or status. This center not only offers treatment but also brings hope, embodying the highest values of humanity in healthcare.
He emphasized that this approach is spearheaded by His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, who continue to reinforce Jordan’s image as a proactive nation in humanitarian aid, exemplified by its leadership in delivering emergency aid to Gaza despite various challenges.
