KHARTOUM, June 7, 2026 (SUNA) — Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim and the Wali (Governor) of Khartoum State, Ahmed Othman Hamza, met Sunday to review infrastructure reconstruction and the comprehensive restoration of medical services across the state. Wali Hamza welcomed the successful resumption of kidney dialysis services at Ahmed Gasim Hospital and the majority of Khartoum’s referral hospitals. He also highlighted the completed rehabilitation and reopening of the Jaber Abu El-Izz Referral Pediatric Diabetes Hospital, alongside structural upgrades at Ibrahim Malik Hospital. Both officials emphasized that activating national and state health insurance schemes remains a critical priority to alleviate financial burdens on patients. The Wali expressed his appreciation to the Minister for his sustained field engagement and the uninterrupted provision of essential medicines and medical supplies since the outbreak of the war.He reaffirmed Khartoum State’s commitment to continuing its partnership with the Ministry of Health to rehabilitate damaged facilities, upgrade healthcare infrastructure, and restore a sustainable treatment environment.BH/BH
