KHARTOUM, June 4, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim met Thursday in his office with UNICEF Representative in Sudan Sheldon Yett to discuss activities and efforts undertaken during the past period, in the presence of a number of ministry officials. The minister commended the organization’s continued support across various health and humanitarian sectors, calling for further interventions, particularly in insecure states, noting that the ministry bears responsibility for every citizen regardless of their location. He also called for coordination in the areas of water and environmental sanitation, with resources directed toward identified priorities. For his part, UNICEF Representative Sheldon Yett reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to continuing support for the ministry and aligning with its efforts through joint implementation of priority projects and programs related to vaccination and immunization, malaria control, and water and sanitation services.BH/BH
