Health Minister Participates in Sixth “Walk the Talk” Event in Geneva

Geneva, May 17, 2026 (SUNA) – Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, accompanied by members of the Sudanese delegation and Sudan’s permanent mission in Geneva, participated on Sunday in the sixth edition of the “Walk the Talk” event, organized annually by the World Health Organization (WHO) at the Place des Nations in Geneva. The event, held on the sidelines of the 79th World Health Assembly (18–23 May 2026), drew broad participation from global health leaders and member state delegations, delivering a unified message that health is a right for all and that physical activity is a key pillar in achieving it. The event opened with remarks by several speakers, including the Mayor of Geneva, Cameroonian footballer Gaël Ondoua, and WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, followed by a group photo and a march from Place des Nations to WHO headquarters with wide participation from member state delegations and the public. The annual initiative forms part of WHO efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and highlight the role of physical activity in advancing the principle of “Health for All.” This year’s edition was organized in partnership with the City of Geneva, the Canton of Geneva, and the Swiss Sports Federation.BH/BH
