Doha, March 08 (QNA) – HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a telephone call today from HE President of the friendly French Republic, Emmanuel Macron.
During the call, the French President reiterated France’s condemnation of the ongoing Iranian aggression against the State of Qatar and countries of the region, along with the consequent threat to their security, stability, and sovereignty.
HE the French President underscored France’s full solidarity with the State of Qatar in confronting the Iranian attacks. He commended the efficiency of the Qatar Armed Forces in reinforcing security and protecting all those on its soil, including French residents.
Addressing the bilateral relations, both sides emphasized the importance of ensuring the stability of energy supplies, freedom of navigation in critical maritime lanes, and shoring up the existing defense cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides reiterated their commitment to continuing the enduring strategic partnership between them, stressing that achieving lasting stability in the region requires de-escalation and giving dialogue and diplomatic paths overriding priority in addressing the current challenges. (QNA)
