Human Resources Minister Signs Agreement with Red Cross to Support Physical Rehabilitation and Prosthetics

Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare Mo’tasem Ahmed Saleh on Saturday signed an agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to provide technical and financial support for physical rehabilitation services and prosthetics and assistive-device centers in Sudan. The agreement aims to enhance the capacity of rehabilitation centers and enable them to provide services to persons with disabilities and war-wounded individuals across Sudan’s various states. The agreement includes the provision of materials, equipment, prosthetic limbs, assistive devices, wheelchairs, and physiotherapy services, as well as equipment maintenance, operational support, staff incentives, and assistance with transportation, accommodation, and subsistence for beneficiaries. It also includes training and capacity-building programs for center staff. The minister affirmed that the agreement represents a step toward strengthening rehabilitation services and reintegrating people affected by the war, while expanding their access to care in a manner that contributes to their empowerment and independence. He expressed his appreciation to the International Committee of the Red Cross for the partnership, noting his aspiration to achieve tangible results in developing rehabilitation services in the country.BH/BH
