Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir, addressed the “Tawasol” programme held as part of the Festival Against Hate Speech and in Support of Return to Homeland. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information in Khartoum State in cooperation with the Global Space Center for Culture and Media and the Musicians’ Union at the union’s headquarters in Omdurman, in the presence of several state officials. Jabir praised the efforts of the Global Space Center for Culture and Media, saying the center is leading a campaign against hate speech at a time when Sudan is in need of such initiatives. He also commended the resilience of Sudanese citizens and their support for the armed forces, which he said contributed to recent military gains in the “Battle of Dignity.” Jabir stressed that the Sudanese people reject hate speech, affirming that art, culture, music, literature, and theatre are effective tools for combating division and promoting national unity. For his part, Khartoum State Wali Ahmed Othman Hamza reaffirmed the state government’s support for musicians, artists, dramatists, and theatre professionals, saying their work contributes to strengthening national unity. He noted that the event was the fourth activity within the festival and expressed optimism that Sudan would recover and that the return of displaced citizens would soon be completed.BH/BH
