Khartoum, July 3, 2026 (SUNA) — The Organization for the Promotion of Imams and Preachers has announced its full support for the national awareness campaign on electrical safety launched by the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO), aimed at reducing electrical hazards and protecting lives and property. Engineer Hatem Sir Al-Khatim Salem, head of the organization, affirmed its backing of the initiative, noting that Friday sermons dedicated to raising awareness of the risks of unsafe electrical connections and the use of non-compliant equipment, as well as promoting adherence to safety standards and regulations. He said 287 imams and preachers across Sudan’s states participated in delivering the awareness message, in line with their social and religious responsibility to promote a culture of safety and help protect society from preventable risks.BH/BH
