Gaza, Jan. 14 (Petra) – The Government Media Office in Gaza announced that the death toll of journalists has risen to 204 since the onset of the war in the Gaza Strip, following the death of journalist Mohammed Bashir Talmas from Safa Press Agency.
Talmas succumbed to his injuries after an Israeli airstrike targeted the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City. The office urged the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and global journalistic bodies to denounce the systematic attacks on Palestinian journalists and media personnel.
The statement called on the international community and relevant organizations to condemn these acts, hold the Israeli occupation accountable in international courts, and apply effective pressure to halt the ongoing violence. It emphasized the need to protect journalists and media professionals in Gaza from targeted killings and assassinations.
