Amman, Dec. 17 (Petra)- The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply expressed its thanks to the Lower House’s Energy Committee, represented by its chairman Ayman Abu Haniyeh and committee members, for following up on the issue of gas heaters known as “Shamousa” heaters, the important recommendations it put forward, and its monitoring of the procedures taken to safeguard public safety.
In a statement, the ministry said it has adopted the full set of recommendations issued by the parliamentary Energy Committee on the matter, which will have a clear impact on strengthening the framework of measures needed to ensure public safety by providing gas heaters that meet the highest specifications, in line with mandatory conditions for their sale and use by citizens, and by preventing the production, sale and circulation of models that may pose a risk.
The ministry affirmed that responding to the committee’s recommendations through the series of decisions and measures taken today comes within the framework of close cooperation between the government and the House of Representatives, in a manner that serves the public interest.
