Amman, July 14 (Petra)– Minister of Interior Mazen Faraya held a phone call with Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab to express solidarity and check on efforts to contain the wildfires that have recently swept through parts of Latakia Governorate.
During the call, Faraya was briefed on the latest developments, the scale of the damage, and the ongoing response on the ground.
Minister Khattab, in turn, thanked Jordan for its timely support and commended the Jordanian Civil Defense teams for their professional contribution in assisting Syrian efforts to bring the fires under control.
Faraya also extended an invitation to his Syrian counterpart to visit Jordan later this month, in a gesture aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
