Kassala, June 2, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Interior Lt. Gen. (Police) Babiker Samra Mustafa, accompanied by state officials, inspected the Anti-Smuggling Directorate in Kassala. He viewed an exhibition of seized goods including electronics, mobile phones, food items, narcotics, medicines, and various weapons and ammunition. The directorate’s director, Brig. Ahmed Al-Tayib, said the minister was briefed on operational performance and challenges facing the directorate, including wide and difficult border areas and high operational costs. He added that the minister pledged to provide support to enhance the directorate’s performance and praised media efforts in raising awareness about the dangers of smuggling.BH/BH
