Baghdad, March 2 (QNA) – Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein affirmed Monday that Iraq is being directly affected by the course of the war in the region, noting that its continuation would exacerbate instability and create chaos.

A statement from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry indicated that Hussein received a phone call from British Minister of State for the Middle East Hamish Falconer, during which they discussed developments in the war in Iran and its repercussions on the region.

The statement added that the call included a comprehensive assessment of the field and political situation, with the British minister outlining his country’s new position, explaining that it would allow US forces to use certain facilities while working to facilitate related procedures.

According to the statement, Hussein pointed out that Iraq is now directly affected by the course of the war, warning that the continuation of the war would exacerbate the state of instability and create a state of chaos in the region, questioning the desired goals of prolonging the conflict in light of the losses and humanitarian and security repercussions it leaves behind.
