Baghdad, March 14 (QNA) – Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid spoke by telephone today with Italian President Sergio Mattarella about the evolving situation in the region and its implications for international security and stability.
The Iraqi Presidency indicated in a statement that Rashid emphasized the importance of intensifying international efforts to contain the escalating tensions in the region, thereby contributing to strengthening stability and maintaining regional peace and security. He stressed Iraq’s firm stance against any violation of its sovereignty or the use of its airspace and territory in conflicts.
For his part, the Italian President reiterated his country’s support for Iraq’s efforts to protect its sovereignty, noting that Italy is closely monitoring the ongoing developments in the region and their repercussions. He emphasized the necessity of prioritizing dialogue and working to de-escalate tensions and halt the escalation. (QNA)
