Ramallah, Jan. 14 (Petra) – Israeli occupation forces Tuesday issued stop-work orders for several Palestinian residential and agricultural structures in the Ras al-Ahmar area of the northern Palestinian valley.

Mutaz Bisharat, a representative for settlement affairs in the Jordan Valley, stated in a statement that the occupation forces delivered stop-work notices for 16 residential and agricultural structures belonging to five families in Ras al-Ahmar, citing a lack of permits issued by the Israeli authorities.

According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, extremist settlers carried out over 2,971 violations against Palestinians and their property last year, resulting in the death of 10 citizens.

During the same period, Israeli authorities issued 903 demolition orders for Palestinian structures, also citing a lack of permits. The majority of these notices were distributed in the Hebron governorate (180 notices), followed by Jericho and the Jordan Valley (140), and Bethlehem (126).

Additionally, settlers on Tuesday cut down dozens of olive trees in the village of Al-Lubban al-Sharqiya, south of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

Yaqub Awis, the head of Al-Lubban al-Sharqiya village council, said in a statement that settlers had cut dozens of olive trees in the Sarya area, southeast of the village.

The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission’s annual report revealed that last year settlers carried out 451 attacks on Palestinian trees, targeting a total of 14,212 trees, including 10,459 olive trees.
