Beirut, Aug. 22 (Petra) — The Israeli military detonated a large
number of homes on the western outskirts of the southern Lebanese
town of Mays al-Jabal early Saturday, according to a Lebanese
security source.
The source reported that an Israeli force advanced into Mays al-Jabal
on Saturday afternoon, rigging remaining homes with explosives in
preparation to blow them up amid heavy artillery shelling and
machine-gun fire sweeping the area.
Explosions were also recorded in Bint Jbeil, Majdal Zoun, and Taybeh,
coinciding with intense artillery bombardment targeting the Ali
al-Taher forest on the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
Israeli airstrikes struck Al-Mansouri in Tyre, as well as the area
between Serbine and Rachaf, with white phosphorus shells allegedly
deployed on the outskirts of Doha Kfar Roummane and the vicinity of
Dabsha Hill.
