Ramallah, December 16 (Petra) – A Palestinian child was killed by settler gunfire on Tuesday evening in the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, marking the second such killing in the town in less than 24 hours.
Tuqu’ Mayor Muhammad Badan said in a statement that the victim, 16-year-old Muheeb Jibril, was shot and killed following the funeral procession of another teenager, Ammar Sabah, also 16, who was killed a day earlier during a raid by Israeli occupation forces on the town.
Badan added that a settler exited his vehicle and opened fire on young men who remained at the northern entrance of the town after the funeral, resulting in Jibril’s death.
The statement called on the international community to urgently intervene to provide protection for the Palestinian people and to put an end to the continued killing of Palestinians.
