Irbid, May 17 (Petra) – Chief of the Royal Court Yousef Issawi, head of the committee to follow up on implementation of Royal Initiatives, Saturday inaugurated projects and toured others that are underway in Irbid Governorate.
The projects are part of a series of royal initiatives to improve services to citizens and boost sustainable development efforts across the Kingdom.
In Ramtha District, Issawi, joined by Social Development Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa and local officials, opened an expansion of the Center for People with Disabilities and checked on various facilities, including an additional floor of five classrooms, health facilities, and providing furniture and equipment.
It will raise the center’s capacity from 72 to 112 students, allowing it to accommodate more children with disabilities and provide rehabilitation and education services that address their individual needs.
The center offers specialized services to those with mild and moderate mental and motor disabilities, as well as children with Down syndrome and autism, aged 4 to 18.
In the North Mazar and Bani Kinanah districts, Issawi inaugurated two public parks in Deir Youssef and Al-Rafid, each including a five-a-side playground, children’s play areas, including those with disabilities, as well as tree-lined green spaces, paved walkways, and seating areas.
Irbid Governorate saw nine public parks established as Royal Initiative projects.
In Umm Qais in ??Bani Kinanah district, the Royal Court head, accompanied by Minister of Environment Muawiya Radaideh and local officials, inspected the progress of an environmental lodge project in Yarmouk Reserve, including 20 chalets, ten hotel rooms, a visitor building, and other tourist facilities.
The eco-lodge will promote and revitalize eco-tourism as it attracts Arab and foreign visitors to the reserve, one of the key natural areas in Jordan.
In the Northern Jordan Valley District, Issawi, in the presence of the Minister of Youth, Yazan Shdaifat, Issawi inaugurated two five-a-side football pitches, a particular royal initiative priority as they provide a safe environment for local young people.
