Rome, May 20 (Petra) — Italian opposition parties condemned Israel’s war in the Gaza Strip and called for Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to appear before Parliament during a session of the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday.
Members of the Democratic Party, the Five Star Movement and the Left-Green Alliance participated in the protests and debates. Democratic Party MP Laura Boldrini announced that a vote on a joint opposition motion regarding the situation in Gaza would take place Wednesday, urging Meloni to be show up and address the assembly.
Additionally, Left-Green Alliance MP Marco Grimaldi stated, “What is happening in Gaza is genocide” and called for the suspension of all official activities and relations with Israel.
