Rome, August 21 (QNA) Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met today with Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun, currently visiting Italy, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to develop them in all fields.
During their meeting in Rome, the two sides reviewed the situation in Lebanon in general, and in the south in particular, in light of the continued Israeli attacks on border towns and villages. They also exchanged views on the post-UNIFIL phase in Lebanon and developments in the region as a whole.
Aoun, on this occasion, called for the need to pressure Israel to adhere to the framework agreement reached last June during the Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations in Washington to de-escalate tensions. (QNA)
