Amman, Aug 11 (Petra) – Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said on Monday the situation in Gaza was “morally and legally unacceptable,” describing it not as a conventional military operation with collateral damage but as “an outright denial of the principles of international law and the values on which our civilization is built.”
“We cannot remain silent in the face of this,” Crosetto was quoted as saying by Euronews.
He added that Italy was seriously assessing the imposition of punitive measures against Israel, stressing that the aim of such sanctions would be “to save the citizens of Israel from a government that has lost its mind and its humanity,” as he put it.
