Amman, Aug. 6 (Petra) — Foreign ministers from eight countries on
Thursday strongly condemned Israel’s continued violations in the Gaza
Strip, citing attacks on health facilities and civilian
infrastructure as civilian deaths, including women and children,
continue to mount.

The joint statement came from the foreign ministers of Jordan, the
United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia,
Qatar and Egypt.

They said the ongoing violations breach Israel’s obligations under
international law, including international humanitarian law, and
represent a clear violation of the comprehensive plan to end the war
on Gaza.

The ministers warned that the violations undermine international and
regional efforts to implement the plan’s second phase, particularly
after United States President Donald Trump announced that Palestinian
factions had accepted the roadmap, including provisions on collecting
weapons. They said the violations risk derailing the political
process, reigniting escalation and deepening the humanitarian
catastrophe in Gaza.

Protecting civilians, safeguarding medical facilities and health and
humanitarian workers, and ensuring immediate, safe and unimpeded
delivery of aid and medical supplies across Gaza are legal
obligations that cannot be breached under any circumstances, the
ministers stressed.

They said Israel’s violations in Gaza cannot be separated from
settler attacks in the occupied West Bank, illegal settlement
expansion and unilateral measures to alter the status quo in occupied
Jerusalem.

Together, the ministers said, these actions form a systematic policy
to impose facts on the ground by force, undermine the foundations of
a two-state solution and marginalize the legitimate rights of the
Palestinian people, in flagrant violation of international law and
relevant United Nations (UN) resolutions.

The ministers renewed their call on the international community,
particularly the U.N. Security Council, to uphold its legal and moral
responsibilities and to take effective action to compel Israel to
meet its obligations under international law and Security Council
Resolution 2803.

They also called for holding those responsible for grave violations
accountable, saying this would help protect civilians, preserve the
chances of completing the agreement’s implementation and secure a
permanent ceasefire.

The ministers underscored their countries’ firm rejection of any
attempt to annex Palestinian territory, impose Israeli sovereignty
over it, or forcibly displace the Palestinian people.

They said the only path to a just and comprehensive peace lies in
launching a serious political process toward a two-state solution,
establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the June
4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
