Amman, Oct 4 (Petra) – The Independent Election Commission (IEC) joined the international observer mission in Georgia’s municipal elections, which opened Saturday.
Some 3,061 polling stations opened this morning across the country and will close at 8:00 p.m.
Representing the IEC, Director of Information Technology Mahmoud Al-Zaben and Director of Internal Control Sultan Al-Qudah reviewed the technology used in balloting and vote-counting.
The IEC’s participation was in response to an invitation by the Central Election Commission of Georgia to monitor the country’s polls, according to a statement by the commission.
