Amman, May 26 (Petra) – Mayor of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), Yousef Shawarbeh, met Monday with Azerbaijani Ambassador Eldar Salimov to discuss strengthening bilateral ties between Amman and Baku and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation in municipal and urban development.

Shawarbeh emphasized the importance of deepening relations between the two capitals and promoting joint initiatives that foster mutual benefit across various sectors, particularly in urban planning, infrastructure, and cultural exchange.

Salimov, in turn, extended his congratulations on Jordan’s 79th Independence Day and praised the steady progress achieved by Amman in municipal governance and infrastructure development. He expressed Azerbaijan’s readiness to enhance cooperation and share technical expertise with Jordan to advance common goals.

Amman and Baku are linked by a cooperation and friendship protocol covering multiple areas, including urban management, infrastructure, cultural programs, and the exchange of municipal knowledge and practices.
