Jordan Condemns Houthi Military Spokesman’s Remarks on Saudi Arabia

Amman, July 21 (QNA) – Jordan condemned the Houthi military spokesman’s remarks accusing Saudi Arabia of imposing a blockade on the Yemeni people and his threats to maritime navigation.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Amman strongly rejects and condemns these remarks, affirming Jordan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures Riyadh takes to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
The Ministry also called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by ensuring the implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 on Yemen and Resolution 2722 on the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.
It emphasized that freedom of navigation in international waterways is a right guaranteed under international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. (QNA)
