Amman, May 19 (Petra) — Jordan condemned on Monday Israel’s bombing of Hamad Hospital for Prosthetic Limbs in Gaza, describing it as a blatant violation of international law, including international humanitarian law and a clear breach of the 1949 Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

In a statement, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates spokesperson Sufian Qudah reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering rejection and strong condemnation of Israel’s ongoing aggression against Gaza.

He condemned the systematic targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure and the destruction of vital facilities providing essential services to the Palestinian population.

Qudah warned against the continued use of starvation and blockades as tools of coercion to force Palestinian displacement. He emphasised that the ongoing Israeli violations in Gaza and the West Bank threaten regional security and stability.

He called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations by pressuring Israel to immediately cease its aggression, open humanitarian crossings to allow aid into Gaza and uphold the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to establish an independent and sovereign state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He urged accountability for those responsible for violations and crimes against Palestinians.
