Amman, Aug. 25 (Petra)– The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates
Affairs has condemned the illegal entry of the Israeli defense
minister into the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic and his
crossing of its international borders, describing it as a blatant
violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a
flagrant breach of international law.

Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fouad Majali stressed Jordan’s
absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the serious violation,
which he described as an unacceptable provocative escalation and an
infringement on the sovereignty of an Arab state.

Majali underscored the need to halt all Israeli actions targeting
Syria’s security and stability, which constitute violations of the UN
Charter and Israel’s obligations under the 1974 Disengagement
Agreement.

He called on the international community to assume its legal and
moral responsibilities and compel Israel to cease its illegal and
provocative attacks against Syria, end its occupation of parts of
Syrian territory, and respect international law, international
legitimacy resolutions, state sovereignty, and the principle of
non-interference in the affairs of other states.

Majali also reaffirmed Jordan’s steadfast support for Syria in
rebuilding the country on foundations that safeguard its unity,
sovereignty, security, stability, territorial integrity, and the
safety of its citizens, while preserving the rights of all Syrians.
