Amman, Jan. 19 (Petra) – The Jordan Customs Department (JCD) emphasized the importance of utilizing the pre-approvals and licensing system through its online platform, which constitutes a modern electronic tool aimed at simplifying customs procedures, speeding up clearance processes, and enhancing transparency while integrating with relevant regulatory authorities.
In a statement on Monday, the JCD noted that the system facilitates customs procedures before goods, equipment, or machinery arrive in the Kingdom, helping to reduce delays at customs centers and expedite the release of shipments.
The system allows importers, traders, and industrialists to obtain the necessary approvals from relevant authorities in advance, thereby reducing clearance times, lowering operational costs, and improving the business environment in line with international best practices for trade facilitation.
The JCD urged importers to submit electronic requests through the pre-approval platform before importing any goods requiring regulatory approvals, whether environmental, health-related, or technical, stressing that completing these procedures in advance ensures smooth customs clearance and faster transaction processing.
