Amman, Sept. 2 (Petra) – The Jordanian-Egyptian Parliamentary
Brotherhood Committee and Egyptian Ambassador Khaled Abyad discussed
strategic ties and cooperation.
Talks centered on expanding cooperation across parliamentary,
economic, trade, cultural, energy, transportو and tourism sectors,
including leveraging Egypt’s experience in developing the New
Capital.
Committee Chair Abdel Nasir Hashim Mahmoud Khasawneh noted the
“rapidly expanding” cooperation between Amman and Cairo.
He pointed to the historical relations between the two, supported by
His Majesty King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah
El-Sisi.
Stressing the Hashemite Custodianship of Jerusalem’s holy sites,
Khasawneh rejected the forced displacement of Palestinians, calling
on the international community to support Palestinian statehood.
Abyad, for his part, commended King Abdullah II’s leadership,
Jordan’s stance on the Palestinian cause, and the parliament’s role
in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
