Amman, Aug. 23 (Petra) — Jordan’s senior men’s national basketball
team will travel to Manila on Monday ahead of matches against the
Philippines and Australia on Aug. 28 and 30, respectively, in the
fourth window of the second round of the Asian qualifiers for the
2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Jordan recently concluded its participation in the William Jones Cup
in Chinese Taipei, finishing sixth as part of its preparations for
upcoming competitions and the World Cup qualifiers.

Under the qualification format, Jordan advanced to the second round
in Group E, carrying over the points earned in the first round. The
national team is third with 11 points, level with second-placed Iran.
Australia leads the group with 12 points, followed by New Zealand
with 10, while the Philippines and Syria have eight points each.

Separately, international referee Ibrahim Jarrar concluded his
participation in the William Jones Cup after officiating eight games,
including the third-place playoff, and received positive evaluations
from the tournament’s technical supervisors.
