Amman, Dec 22 (Petra) – Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on Monday visited Doha, where he met with Qatari Ministry of Interior Undersecretary, Abdullah Al Kaabi, to discuss security cooperation between the two countries.
They discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in security and policing fields and exchanging expertise and successful practices to raise the efficiency of institutional performance to address various security challenges.
The PSD Chief made field visits to specialized security bodies, including the General Directorate for Drug Control, where he was briefed on methods and mechanisms to combat drug trafficking. He also called on the General Directorate of Civil Defense for a briefing on emergency response, public safety, and crisis and disaster management procedures.
The visit also included the National Command Center and the Police Academy, where he was briefed on modern training and educational programs and methods to prepare and qualify security personnel according to international standards.
The PSD head spoke of deep-rooted and brotherly relations between Jordan and Qatar, commending the Gulf Arab sate’s advanced security expertise.
The two sides stressed joint security coordination for the stability of the two countries.
