Amman, August 24 (Petra) – House Speaker Mazen Qadi met on Monday
with Qatari Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani to
discuss relations and parliamentary cooperation.
Qadi discussed the deep historical ties and mutual trust between
Amman and Doha, which, he said, are rooted in the strong relationship
between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin
Hamad Al Thani.
He pointed to ongoing coordination between the two nations on
regional issues, expressing the House’s drive to deepen ties with
Qatar’s Shura Council.
Al Thani, for his part, lauded Jordan’s regional role under King
Abdullah II’s leadership and pledged Qatar’s commitment to bolstering
bilateral ties and legislative partnership.
During the discussions, First Deputy Speaker Khamis Atieh called for
expanding economic and developmental ties, while Jordanian-Qatari
Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee Chair Abdulrauf Rbiehat urged
regular parliamentary dialogue to support shared interests.
