Amman, Sept. 28 (Petra) – The Jordan Red Crescent, supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), organized a workshop in Amman under the theme “Introduction to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the Auxiliary Role to Local Authorities.”
The workshop was opened by Jordan Red Crescent President Mohammed Hadid, the ICRC Head of Delegation in Jordan Yann Fridez, and the IFRC Head of Delegation Atta Durrani, alongside representatives from several ministries and national institutions.
The event aimed to familiarize participants with the international movement, highlight the auxiliary role of the Jordan Red Crescent alongside local authorities, and review the roles of the IFRC and the ICRC in supporting national societies.
Hadid stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination with local and international partners to deliver humanitarian services efficiently, praising the efforts of national institutions and movement partners in supporting humanitarian action.
Representatives from the Ministries of Social Development, Finance, Education, Health, and Transport, along with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, the National Center for Security and Crises Management, and Public Security Directorate, also took part in the workshop, in addition to officials from the ICRC and the IFRC.
