Amman, July 21 (Petra) – Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa met on Monday with Spanish Ambassador to Jordan Miguel de Lucas to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in shared areas of social development.

During the meeting, Bani Mustafa outlined the ministry’s key programs targeting vulnerable groups, as well as recent expansions in care, protection, and development services.

She underscored the importance of partnerships with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and the European Union in implementing social programs aligned with Jordan’s Social Protection Strategy (2025–2033) and the country’s political, economic, and administrative modernization visions, all of which support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The minister also highlighted recent national efforts that led to the adoption and amendment of laws aimed at protecting children, women, and families, including the Family Protection Law and the Child Rights Law.

She further noted efforts to respond to cases of violence, emphasizing the significance of the “one-stop service model,” which offers legal, psychological, and medical services to women survivors of violence. She called for expanding access to this model across the Kingdom to ensure timely and effective support.

Ambassador de Lucas commended the ministry’s efforts in delivering social services and implementing the updated National Social Protection Strategy, expressing hope for deeper collaboration and coordination in the future.
