Amman, August 19 (QNA) – Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Syrian counterpart Asaad Al Shaibani spoke on the telephone Wednesday to discuss the belligerent Israeli policy that further fuels tensions in the region.
During the conversation, both ministers warned of the consequences of the Israeli attacks on Syria, as well as the threats to regional security and stability. They underlined the importance of the international community undertaking its responsibilities to halt these unwarranted escalatory actions.
Safadi reiterated Jordan’s condemnation of the Israeli armed aggression against Abu Al-Duhur Military Airbase in Idlib Governorate on Tuesday as a flagrant violation of international law and a grave escalation that further exacerbates tensions in the region.
Safadi and Al Shaibani also conferred on regional developments, with both sides stressing their nations’ supportive positions on efforts to achieve security and stability, address all drivers of tension, and respect international law and the sovereignty of nations. (QNA)
